BIOPHILIC DESIGN IN BELGRAVIA
With many of us focusing on our wellbeing, our interiors play an integral part in helping us reset and restore in the comfort of our homes. One of our current projects is doing just that with the help of Biophilic design. A concept used to harness the connection between us and nature, it focuses on bringing the outside in, whether it be the organic curvature of a sofa or the expansive living walls immersing plants in our spaces.
Bringing calm and serenity to our duplex penthouse project in the heart of Belgravia, we have incorporated an indoor courtyard, drawing inspiration from the aesthetics of Japandi design and creating a sanctuary away from the hustle and bustle of the city. STEP INSIDE SURRENNE
Bringing together some of the very best in the business, we’ve been eagerly watching as new wellbeing and longevity members club, Surrenne, share more about their impending opening in Knightsbridge. As one would expect, they have a stellar line up of advisors from Inge Theron and Stella McCartney to Celebrity trainer Tracy Anderson and esteemed Nutritionist, Rose Ferguson catering for all your wellbeing needs. We’ve seen many wellness clubs in the past, but Surrenne is created with a scientific advisory board which focuses on all aspects of your life to help you on your journey of transformation, a concept that we’ll be watching closely.
BREATHING NEWNESS INTO SOTHEBY’S
Our clients are collectors of the very finest luxury items and we collaborate with them to create spaces to house their investments of passion. Some of the very best pieces are still found at iconic auction houses such as Sotheby’s, which was established in 1744 and have rightfully earnt their reputation as one of most prestigious global marketplaces.
However, as with all heritage brands, the need to stay relevant to a younger generation is real and their latest move is focusing on just that by mixing up traditional sale formats. Josh Pullan, Global Head of Sotheby’s Luxury Division says, ‘Collaborating with heist-out on Rough Diamonds is another example of Sotheby’s commitment to engaging collecting communities with innovative and creative sale formats that challenge the status quo.” The new concept will take place underground at the wine cellar La Corne à Vin , Rue de Lausanne in Geneva from 8th April to 10th April. It’s a move that we’re interested to see as they set out to enhance the buying experience and transporting Sotheby’s into a new realm.
SUSTAINABLE SLEEPING
Famous for making the original beds for The Savoy Hotel, Savoir have been handcrafting beds for over 100 years. We have always admired their approach to design, which focuses on delivering extraordinary standards of luxury by using traditional craft techniques and opting for only the finest quality materials. Their latest masterpiece, The SavvyNo.5, takes over 40 hours of meticulous handcrafting and incorporates mood-calming natural materials and sumptuous layers for ultimate comfort. The design boasts all their usual clean credentials too, making them a sustainable choice when looking for a bed designed to last a lifetime. As with all their beds, it comes fully bespoke and can be made to your individual requirements, making Savoir one of our favourite brands to work with on our super-prime projects.
NEXT LEVEL LUXURY
From the early days of initials embroidered on to Burberry scarfs to bespoke fragrance, fast-forward a few years and now even your Bentley can be customised at every step of production. Reading Walpole’s recent ‘Luxury in the Making’ report, Bentley reported an increase of profits in excess of £500m, which they say is driven by the desire for a high level of personalisation, sharing that one client requested the internal panels to be crafted from wood in his forest and another designing a custom paint job with 1,000 crushed diamonds. At the studio, this is no new phenomenon for us, as our process is led by crafting one-off residences that are designed specifically for our clients. Delivering the highest levels of bespoke service, so that each design is unlike any other.
LUXURY COLLABS WITH MEANING
We’re always on the lookout for exciting collaborations in the luxury sphere, so we were interested to see Victoria’s next move in design as she teams up with Breitling to reimagine their classic Chronomat Automatic in a fresh new palette. However, what struck a chord with us was her inspiration behind the piece, which she created to celebrate ‘women who embrace authenticity and unapologetic confidence’.
A statement that we wholeheartedly support and got us thinking about what and who, we want to collaborate with next. As we continue to spread our ethos of ‘Thoughtful Luxury’ and put purpose into all that we do, whether it be the craftspeople we work with or the sustainable credentials we live by, we look forward to developing collaborations that drive meaning and purpose, encompassing everything we stand for.
