Edition No.8
NOTHING SAYS ‘SUMMER IS HERE’ LIKE WIMBLEDON, EVEN IF THE WEATHER HASN’T GOT THE MEMO! THERE HAS BEEN MUCH DEBATE IN THE STUDIO OVER THE LAST FEW WEEKS ON EVERYTHING FROM THE USE OF PATTERN AND AI TO CELINE’S LATEST FITNESS COLLECTION AND THE VALUE OF SUPER-PRIME PROPERTIES WITH OUTDOOR SPACES. JOIN US FOR OUR MONTHLY MUSINGS.

GAME, SET, MATCH
But not as you know it. We’re not talking tennis. We’re talking interiors. One trend that is sweeping the world of interiors is pattern on repeat. In the studio, we are all aligned on this matter! Our thoughtful and timeless approach to design means we work by blending the space into one cohesive and unified aesthetic with real soul, where pieces sing together rather than compete for attention as they do in a mono pattern room. Although many have opted for bold prints and colours, we believe the same effect can be achieved with any palette or print – whether it be a neutral palette or quietly luxurious fabrics and patterns.

HEAVENLY CEILING DÉCOR
Sparking conversation in the studio, our recent trip to WOW!house included some noteworthy ceiling designs, which got us thinking about the history behind ceiling décor. Read our latest article, which delves into the history of the trends and cultural movements that have shaped and influenced designs on the fifth wall.

PUTTING A PRICE ON THE OUTDOORS
Prime Resi recently reported that both Knight Frank and DDRE suggest London buying agents are vastly undervaluing outdoor space in the UK. Unlike in Dubai, where properties with outdoor space attract a percentage of the internal sq.ft. value, in the UK, outdoor space is typically valued on a case-by-case basis. The reports also suggest a surge in overseas buyers looking for gardens, balconies, and terraces in London. New residences are already capitalising on this demand, such as The Whiteley by Valouran in Bayswater, have created a Penthouse with a ‘record-breaking’ 4,462 ft² landscaped terrace.
These entertaining spaces are being designed with versatility in mind, to be enjoyed no matter the weather. Luxurious furniture, beautifully crafted fabrics and of course heating such as outdoor fireplaces are necessary comforts for all year round use in the UK. From internal courtyards to roof terraces, hotels and private residences alike are working to deliver beautifully crafted outdoor spaces to be enjoyed all year round. It is becoming a non-negotiable for those seeking the very finest that London has to offer.

A MOMENT FOR PARIS
Paris is in the spotlight at the moment and is dominating our feeds. From Vogue World to the Netflix series ‘The Parisian Agency,’ and of course, the upcoming Olympics, there is a real je ne sais quoi about this beautiful city. We have always been captivated by Parisian charm – from their couture clothing to the stunning architecture, we admire the romance and elegance in their style. Head to our Pinterest to see our inspiration behind a Parisian apartment in the heart of the city.

THE RISE OF THE NEXT GENERATION AI SUPERMODEL
As the glitterati gathered at the V&A for the launch of ‘Naomi: In Fashion,’ their first-ever exhibition dedicated to a model, we wondered how the future may look for the next generation of supermodels. In recent years, we’ve seen the era of ‘normalising’ bodies and celebrating the female figure in every form. So, what’s next? Taking this new level of reality to the other end of the spectrum, we are seeing the rise of the AI supermodel. With the likes of Shudu Gram featuring in Vogue, Hypebeast, and V Magazine, these generated models are taking their place in the front row.
This got us thinking about our own world of luxury, ultra-prime interiors and how this may impact the way they are represented in the pages of our favourite interior magazines. How will we start to distinguish between what is concept and what is reality as this line continues to blur? One to watch.

CELINE ENTERS A NEW ARENA
Last year, we were inspired by Celine's Triomphe Tennis bag to take up tennis. This year, it looks like Pilates might be our new fitness obsession. Their latest collection, set to launch in October, includes leather-panelled yoga mats, kettlebells, weights, and even a Reformer Pilates machine. But the fashion house isn’t stopping there. Currently residing in the Selfridges Corner Shop, their Plein Soleil collection is not only filled with the summer capsule wardrobe of dreams, but also includes a beach hammock and a customised mini Moke — perfect for cruising along the French Riviera. And when summer ends, rumours suggest they will be launching a makeup range in late autumn.
As we’ve discussed many times here at OBS, luxury brands are winning customers with a lifestyle offering that extends far beyond a wardrobe. By offering our clients the finest luxury turnkey designs, we understand the importance of creating elegant spaces synonymous with a luxury lifestyle. Our interiors not only look beautiful, but they also truly embody our clients’ way of living.
