Sancy West Apartment at The Broadway
To promote a sense of calm and wellness, we have thoughtfully drawn in the exterior palette, taking inspiration from not only the unique elements of the building’s architecture but also the sublime views of the London skyline.
Introducing soft earthy tones, we have combined layers of natural and organic design elements with elegant and sumptuous materials, to achieve a sophisticated, quietly luxurious, and calming environment. Throughout the apartment the spaces have been meticulously curated, with contemporary yet timeless bespoke pieces that support a sense of wellness and innovation, underpinning the very ethos of The Broadway as a unique lifestyle and wellness destination.
On entering the apartment you are greeted by the beautiful ‘Falling Leaves’. Created by Aiveen Daly, one of London’s finest specialist textile artists, the bespoke wall panels, in a beautifully deep olive-green novasuede soften the entrance hall while also introducing a delicate dance of light from the hand sewn bronze beads within the falling leaf design.
To contrast with the sumptuous olive-green panels, the bespoke console has been designed to bring a sense of balance and equilibrium to the entrance hall. Made from travertine and sculptural in design, the strong features and raw materiality of the stunning console table bring to focus the calming earthy palette of this stunning apartment.
To complement the subtle shimmer of the hand applied bronze beads on the backdrop of calming olive-green panels, the organic Tear Drop mirror by Julian Chichester, has been finished in a warm bronze which is applied and beaten by hand. As a result, the finish is unique in both appearance and texture. The design is both sculptural and organic, adding a striking and luxurious element to the space.
As you move from the hallway through to the main reception room the space brightens and the lighter colours within the palette are introduced. The energy and exquisite craftsmanship of the bespoke designs continue, with the iconic vista from this space truly allowing you a moment of reflection.
As you enter the space the bespoke fitted joinery uses an Anegre Figured Venner and curves within its profile. The materiality of this piece was very important to ensure the continued flow of the design palette and theme of calming relaxation throughout the apartment. Organic details continue here with the use of illuminated Calacatta Ice and tactile suede panels to bring a sense of calm and reflection in the room.
The sofa and armchair are the hero pieces in the space. Upholstered in cinnamon mohair and a beautifully soft textured ivory, they invite a feeling of relaxation with their enveloping contemporary design, layered upholstery, and substantial proportions. By designing contrasting shapes with the linear forms found in the exterior architecture, the striking furniture pieces further create a feeling of sanctuary and calm.
Within the seating area, the rug has been created with TOPFLOOR by Esti to a concept developed to reflect the earthscape. With rich cinnamon tones against the calming ivory base, the organic sculpted form is highlighted using moments of olive green. Here the organic shape and soft use of palette connect with the furniture pieces to create a sense of calm and balance.
The bespoke nesting coffee tables with a trio of slim oval legs in American Walnut, link seamlessly with the exquisite dining room furniture. The stone tops are in Calacatta Ice with a shark nose edge detail and an organic form.
The curvilinear shape of the exquisite bespoke dining table brings a unique and luxurious element to this innovative design. With hand carved legs in American Black Walnut and thoughtful layering of the fabric offering tactile elements, the beautiful chairs and striking bench offer an unexpected and contemporary twist to the classic dining table layout.
Above the Dining Table sits the elegantly crafted bespoke pendant light by Kolektiv Ateliers. This organic piece, inspired by the beautiful brim of an oversized floppy sunhat that you can shelter beneath, further supports the overarching theme of wellness and calm. The crafted rippled glass plates have a thoughtful pale nude colour graduation and a subtle undulation in their design. The antique bronze details add an air of sophistication and offer a gentle warmth in the uplighting.
In the kitchen the bar stools take centre stage. Developing a new style that pushes the boundaries of what a bar stool can be. The striking proportions and wide low back show a strength of form that is unique. The woven leather footrest complements the woven fabric upholstery, and the solid timber legs bring a synergy through from the dining area.
The broad curves and layering details of the enveloping headboard set the tone for the master bedroom. This is a space that promotes rest and relaxation, a sanctuary from the bustling city life. The curvaceous form of the bespoke bedside tables completes the design, with a natural walnut finish and travertine tops.
The rug in the master bedroom, by TOPFLOOR by Esti, has been designed to thread through the cornflower blue from the colour palette with a ‘cloud-like’ pattern that looks to mimic the undulations of the London skyline. The blue silk loop-pile motif weaves within the light neutral tones of the wool to create a calming and soft space.
The bespoke dressing table adds an elegant simplicity of form to the master bedroom. Crafted in Calacatta Oro the contemporary yet organic shape of the table with curved marble legs is softened by the beautifully proportioned armchair it’s paired with.
The Glass Chevron Mirror by Rupert Bevan is made of lightly antiqued blue mirrored cathedral glass lozenges carefully placed on a fumed oak frame, surrounding an antiqued mirrored glass centre.
The natural light in the space highlights the stunning contemporary four poster bed in an antique bronzed finish with a strikingly luxurious green velvet headboard. The gentle fluting of the natural wood on the bespoke bed side tables and the Pierre Frey wallpaper in earthy tones, give directional and organic texture to the space.
The elegance of the bench at the end of the bed is in the simplicity of the D shape form and solid base. Large scale proportions add an element of luxury while the ivory chenille with American walnut keep the design contemporary.
The rug by TOPFLOOR by Esti, brings in further green tones through organic moving shapes with a starburst design, emanating from the striking armchair in the corner of the room.
The striking and contemporary armchair from MOG has been upholstered in an intense dark green thick boucle, further complimenting the green in the headboard and rug. The playfulness of the chair design gives the space a relaxing and calming atmosphere.
In contrast to the softer elements in the space, the solid Calacatta Oro side table has three sturdy columns set into the rounded tabletop, adding to the sculptural quality of the piece. With a quirky free form frame of Aged Brass, the beautiful Riva Mirror from Julian Chichester brings a level of beauty and craft to the space.
The elegant, undulating design of the headboard is in a sumptuous ivory fabric with a striking contrast piping in a black and white geometric fabric. Paired with the stunning bespoke bedside tables, that mimic the curve of the headboard, this adds a further element of texture to the design.
Within this room, quirky features complement the contemporary and calm colour palette of the apartment. The rug by TOPFLOOR by Esti, has a boarder design with raised graduated diamonds in earthy tones that adds further texture and interest to the space.
The dressing table from Restoration Hardware further complements the bedside tables and the undulating curves of the headboard. The round stool, upholstered in a contemporary pattern in a dusty pink Dedar fabric, adds a further thoughtful and luxurious layer to the space.
The striking ‘Lily’ mirror by Tom Faulkner is the perfect backdrop for the stunning dressing table. Inspired by the meandering silhouette of a lily pad, the beautiful organic shape in a calming bronze works seamlessly with the earthy tones throughout the space.
Working with Dellaposa Gallery we have carefully curated the art pieces to compliment the interiors of the apartment. The selection includes pieces by Andy Warhol, David Bailey, Daniel Arsham, David Shrigley, Nicholas Hughes, Alexander James Hamilton, Guy Haddon-Grant, Tom Hammick, Maggi Hambling, Pablo Picasso, Tracey Emin.
