Surrey Country House
This beautiful home, situated on one of the most prestigious private roads in Surrey, combines the tradition of a Georgian façade with the striking addition of a wraparound glazed extension. It truly is a meeting of traditional materials, modern architecture, and contemporary comforts.
As you enter through the front door, the hallway has views of the immaculate garden beyond framed by the impressive expansion of glass from the contemporary rear elevation.
Light floods the entrance hall from the large celling lantern, cascading down the structural contemporary staircase, with a signature Chandelier by Kelly Wearstler and sculptural console in black smoked oak introducing the contemporary aesthetic of this striking family home.
Crittall doorways lead you off the entrance hall into the surrounding snug, formal drawing room, playroom, and dining area.
The playroom has been designed with the children at its heart, creative and fun pieces sit alongside beautiful joinery designed for storage, display and to offer the perfect spot for some homework. Bespoke neon lights ensure the sense of fun remains.
A statement terracotta O-shaped rocking chair by Moooi sits alongside a plump modular sofa designed for comfort and relaxation. The cloud like proportions of the sofa and soft curves of the Faye Toogood armchairs are mirrored in the beautiful Fantasy Cloud wallpaper by Cole and Sons adorning the walls.
Opposite the playroom, we have created a peaceful space with a neutral palette in which to relax and unwind. With suede panelled walls, and organic shaped furniture upholstered in beautiful boucle fabric, the space is considered and calming. The bespoke dark wood joinery provides the perfect backdrop for decorative pieces, designer coffee table books and photographs.
As you walk through to the main reception rooms of the house, you enter the formal drawing room and are instantly taken by the light that floods the room and the beautiful views of the pool and garden beyond.
The contemporary art brings a splash of colour to an otherwise neutral palette, with a suede panelled media wall bringing a tactile and soft element to the room. The sofa and armchairs from B&B Italia are dressed with beautiful tonal cushions that compliment this elegant room.
The statement coffee table in smoked oak with solid marble legs, makes an impact working alongside the beautiful over mantel mirror with a tactile faux shagreen frame. The beautiful bronze sculptural lamps from Porta Romana and the chandelier by CTO lighting in dark bronze tones with fretted glass add the finishing touches.
The stunning formal dining room spans the back of the house between the drawing room and family kitchen. With a fully glazed wall, the room is light and bright. The bespoke book matched marble top dining table seating fourteen with bespoke chairs by Ateliers London takes centre stage.
The striking chandelier ‘Bloom’ by Haberdashery is a visual delight, containing illuminated porcelain buds inspired by the first blooms of spring. The composition has been designed to contain a combination of open and closed buds creating a natural appearance, provoking the image of buds unfurling at the start of the season. The stylised Bloom buds are lit from within creating a soft glow through the translucent porcelain petals, delicately suspended using fine silk braided cable from individual ceiling roses.
Contemporary art brings a moment of bold colour to the room, designed for entertaining. The bespoke sideboard by Linea Luxe fuses a high gloss top with laser etched metal for a crisp and clean line. Attention has been given to every detail, with a curved profile adding interest when viewed from the entrance hall.
As you enter the kitchen from the formal dining room, the light continues with the wrap around glazed elevation. The kitchen is the heart of the home for a young family, with a contemporary kitchen by Boffi, complimented by beautiful bar stools and a table designed for family dining.
The suspended log burner sets the standard for the family entertaining space designed with muted tones of olive green with bronze accents. The oversized and cocooning corner sofa ensures that relaxation is front of mind for this family space. With wonderful views of the outside entertaining space and the pool beyond the sliding glazed windows truly bring the outside in.
The Pavillion is accessed through a light filled, artwork lined corridor, and offers a secluded space that has been designed to offer a sanctuary for work and play.
The custom-made contemporary desk commands the corner of this striking room, with comfortable seating, media wall, golf simulator and a bar area for entertaining. The views of the beautiful garden and internal courtyard surround the room on two sides.
The bespoke joinery has been careful curated with our clients' collectables in mind, offering a truly personalised space. The high tech gym studio has floor to ceiling mirrors and includes our client’s preferred gym equipment including a Reformer Pilates Machine.
The master suite has been designed to offer a restful space in which to relax and unwind. The bespoke Aiveen Daly silk headboard takes centre stage with sumptuous bedding in calming neutral shades.
The bespoke bedside tables and bench add further thoughtful design details to the design. Two contemporary armchairs and lighting frame the window, taking advantage of the morning light and views across the garden. The bespoke dressing table and complimentary stool draw the eye through to the dressing room.
The children’s bedrooms have been designed with a sense of fun that they can grow with. Beautiful wallpapers from Cole & Son and Sanderson and thoughtful joinery details add to the individuality of the space. The guest bedrooms have also been designed to offer a stylish and comfortable space with beautifully considered headboards and occasional chairs.
The secluded garden situated at the rear of the property has been designed with family time and entertaining in mind. The stunning pool area has been dressed with beautiful Coco Wolf sun loungers in an ice blue striped fabric, adding a beach club vibe to this area of the garden.
Areas for relaxing and more formal entertaining spaces sit seamlessly alongside. The outside kitchen provides a focal point with a ceramic BBQ from Egg, a gas range, drinks fridge and pizza oven providing for the finest outdoor dining experience. The large outdoor marble table and striking chairs takes formal outdoor dining to a new level.
